These are not my design, but I have finished them to a high standard using a variety of stitches. Each doll is about 5 inches tall. Even though something like this seems simple, it requires a lot of attention to detail to keep it clean and professional looking. Stitches need to be kept a uniform length (in work this small, about 3mm for the chain and straight stitches) and the size of the stitches has to be in proportion to the overall work and other stitches. I often will undo my work if I feel it isn’t done well enough and redo it until it is. Even something like the cats whisker being off 1mm or one of the three satin stitches that make up the eye being off by a single thread can make the work look untidy.
