These miniature knights are figurines from Games Workshop, a company that specialises in table top gaming. All figurines need to be assembled and painted by the owners.
They are quite small, only 7cm x 5cm in the base and each knight about 7cm to the top of the helmut, but I still wanted them to have a lot of detail. I have used very small brushes to paint in the finest details, as well as various washes, glazes and drybrushing to give to bring out all the fine detail of the models.
Assembling the models included gluing the pieces together, sanding down the flash lines and choosing which accessories to give each knight. As these are plastic, they are quite delicate. They are some of the first miniatures I have painted and have suffered slight damages over time. Even though I did these a while ago and see where I could improve them, there are still some of my favourite painted figurines.
I decided to paint a unique design on each knight, as I imagined each knight would represent his own house or lord in a joust (or battle, in the case of the game, Warhammer). I wanted to convey that each knight had their own personality, as well as thinking of the overall impact of the colours when they are grouped together.
